The Travelling Brain

A journey of Self-discovery

For as long as I can remember, the feeling of being a bit ‘apart’ has accompanied me every step of the way. Growing up, my independent spirit often clashed with the majority opinion. During my earlier years, I saw this individuality of mine as a flaw and strived to shape myself into a mould that was more suited to the expectations of those around me. It has been a long and arduous journey for me to love and accept myself just as I am genuinely.

Overcoming Challenges as a Timid Student

Despite having a wonderful childhood in the south of France, with plenty of love and sunshine, it was not enough for my sense of self-worth to stay intact when confronted with the harsh realities of life. Throughout my academic career, I was never particularly outstanding. I was this timid student, who remained in the background, never raising her voice and rarely speaking up – even when I had something of value to say.

Turning Obstacles into Opportunities

Fortunately, instead of letting — what I thought was— “my lack of excellence” define me, I made it an asset by turning it into an opportunity for growth and development. This mindset and unyielding determination eventually led me towards something new – at 23, I wrote, produced and directed a multidisciplinary play in Paris all by myself. Boosted by this experience, I could get the coveted position of Art Gallery Manager.

Embracing the Unknown with an Open Mind

But despite these achievements, after a few years, I strongly desired to give more meaning to my activities. Luckily, life had more surprises in store for me – I gave up the comfort of my job, family and friends to travel around Asia alone. During this 14-month journey, I was exposed to different cultures and met incredible people along the way. I also explore my fascination with the human brain, which pushed me towards creating “The Travelling Brain”. I was inspired by the fact that our brains learn better with multiple sensory stimuli, and I immediately made the connection to my travel experience. The richness and abundance of discovery I was experiencing daily was a natural sensory enhancer, and I felt like I was making great strides! I realized the world could be used as an effective classroom for learning in many ways, and thus, the very beginning idea of this exciting start-up was born.

Exploring Fascination with the Human Brain

This entire project is guided by values that consider knowledge and learning as gateways to personal power, differences and diversity as strengths, and everyone’s potential as a gift for our community.

Life is not a destination but a learning process, and I believe anyone can claim their power and embody who they want to be if they have the proper guidance and tools. That’s why I would like to take this opportunity to invite you to join me on this passionate quest!
